THE ORCHID SHOW AT THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN

Spring is here!  A month ago, there were feet, not inches, FEET of snow on the ground!  The fist the crocus have emerged.  Daffodils are starting to bloom.  The next development in the advent of Spring... The Orchid Show at The New York Botanical Garden.  The Orchid Show is a great opportunity to find inspiration; take countless beautiful photos; and get into the spirit of Spring.

I took the pictured above a few years ago at The Orchid Show.  The specimen shown is the kolopakingii 'Flying Tiger'.  When the orchid is mature, the plant will produce up to 36 flowers on a 1 foot spike.  The flowers can be as large as 6.7" in length.

I'll be sharing more inspiration after I visit the show this weekend!
